all but "approved" websites or a single web page. This software blocks
Internet Explorer in such way that only selected predefined websites
can be displayed. Is it useful for you or your company?School district
installed WebAllow at all computer classes in 17 schools in the area.
Problem: lots of students during computer classes are not actually
following the material being presented during the class. They use web
browser as a chat tool and visit various web sites. Even though student
are logged on computers with a limited privileges account they have to
be able to use Internet Explorer, but it is advisable to restrict the
usage of the browser only to the classes related materials.
After installing WebAllow high school students cannot visit any website
outside the school domain. Note that they also cannot install
alternative browser since their computer accounts do not have
administrative privileges.
Computer Store
The store has two computers available to the public with a home page
set to the company???‚?„?s website. The companies website has a full
catalogue of the products available for sale as OEM and as boxed
hardware items. Visitors are allowed to browse anywhere. They shop
around the WWW for the same item and do not purchase the product in the
store.
WebAllow locked Internet Explorer to the company???‚?„?s online product catalogue.
School Library
The library has ten computers that have home page set to library
catalogue. The main purpose is to allow students to search for the
