Welcome to Issue 38! This month we welcome Olivier Ponsonnet to 3DCreative, which I’ve personally been really excited about since I very first heard back from him in reply to my interview proposal! You’ll no doubt already have seen the fantastically realistic 3D works that make up the stunning portfolio of this artist – many of which grace 3DCreative pages 007 – 014, and we find out how after 12 years working in the field of CG, Ponsonnet’s works have developed from an interest in cars and futuristic cities, to the beautifully rich character images that we find today.

Welcome to Issue 37! This month, on the back of our Beginner’s Guide to ZBrush tutorial series, we’ve gone ZBrush crazy! Not only are we kicking off one brand new 9-part ZBrush tutorial series for you this month, but we are also introducing a new series where we’ll feature 2 artists every month ‘speed sculpting’ from a brief set by 3DCreative, and we’ll show their tutorials covering the stages of creation – some even with accompanying movies, courtesy of the artists! But before I get carried away with that, let me first tell you a little about the new ZBrush tutorial series – “ZBrush Character Creation”. This is a fantastic series which is being created by the most amazing ZBrush Sculptor, Rafael Ghencev.

Welcome to Issue 033! Well, the summer – what summer? – has officially left us now in the UK, and we’re back to our well-known grey skies, cold winds and rainy days. But, how long will the grey skies last, we ask? For are we about to get sucked into oblivion when scientists in Geneva, Switzerland, this week fire up the biggest physics experiment of all time, in their attempts to recreate the ‘Big Bang’? Who knows what will happen … a black hole, perhaps? In keeping with this science theme the latest 2DArtist Stylised Challenge for September has kicked off on ConceptArt.org with a ‘Frankenstein / Science Mishap’ theme, so drop in on the challenge, check out the latest WIPs and perhaps join in yourself if you have an interesting concept to share, and you may even see your work featured in the next issue of 2DArtist!
